Today I’m sharing some simple things that make my days (and my skin lol) a little bit brighter. I really enjoyed sharing what a day in the life looks like for me in this post, so I thought I’d share some products/things that I love right now. Let me know if you enjoy these types of posts, and if you do I’ll make sure they keep coming your way! 🙂
1.Thrive Market
It’s hard to explain how much I love Thrive Market. I enjoy healthy foods, supplements and natural beauty products, but they’re not always affordable! Thrive Market sells amazing products at 25-50% off retail prices, which is perfect for me because I’m ballin’ on a budget. I buy things like collagen, organic shampoo and conditioner, essential oils, healthy snacks and so much more. They run promotions for free products almost every week if you make a purchase of $59 or more. For example, this week I received a free box of Kodiak protein pancake mix and a bag of organic coffee (worth $15 combined) with my $60 purchase. It’s an awesome benefit, so I typically wait to place my order until they’re running a free product special.
It’s $60 for a yearly membership and when you purchase a membership, one gets donated to a family in need, which I love! You can try out a 30-day free trial and get 15% off your first purchase to try it out.
2. Birch Benders Pancakes
I’ve always preferred sweet over savory breakfasts, so there’s it’s no surprise I love a good pancake. Back in the day, my Mom always made us Aunt Jemima pancakes for breakfast on the weekends and I always devoured them. I recently discovered these Paleo Birch Benders Pancakes (you can get them on Thrive Market, too), and I’m obsessed! They’re really easy to make since the mix is just add water, and they’re full of amazing ingredients like cassava, coconut and almond flour. I just made them for my cousin’s bachelorette party and they were a huge hit! Pro tip: add a little extra coconut flour so they get super fluffy 🙂
3. oneOeight
oneOeight is an online platform home to yoga classes, guided meditations, nutritional inspiration and more. I’ve been subscribed for about two years and love oneOeight’s yoga classes because you can pick your class based on duration, instructor, difficulty and mood. The platform hosts some of the best teachers in the world so you can practice with them anywhere at anytime! It’s a great option if you travel a lot, can’t afford a studio membership or you want to practice without having to leave the comfort of your home! Winter is just around the corner, and let’s be honest, it can be hard to drag yourself outside your cozy home to make it to a studio. Whether you want a five-minute core focused class or a 90-minute vinyasa flow, there’s tons of options for you. You can try a 10-day trial for free or join the monthly membership for $14/month.
4. Double Cleansing
I recently heard about double cleansing on The Skinny Confidential Him + Her Podcast, and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to using one cleanser! The process of double cleansing begins by using an oil-based cleanser to wash your face, then following it up with a water-based cleanser. There’s a bad stigma that oils will clog your pores, but it’s not true! My skin has cleared up significantly since I started incorporating oils into my skincare routine — they’re so nourishing for your skin. I begin by cleansing my face with organic jojoba oil, which soothes irritated skin and inflammation, and helps acne. I then follow it up with a salicylic acid cleanser, which deep cleans the skin. I love this method because it does a great job of taking off all of my makeup and my skin feels so much cleaner, plus I’ve had way less breakouts — win!
5. The Armchair Expert Podcast with Dax Shephard
I recently discovered this podcast when I was gearing up for a drive to the beach and wanted to listen to something entertaining and lighthearted. Dax Shephard’s Armchair Expert podcast is hilarious, insightful and thought provoking. I’ve loved Dax Shephard since the movie “Without a Paddle;” I swear my parents and I used to watch it regularly and we cracked up every time. Dax interviews well-known celebrities like Seth Rogen, Lauren Graham (shoutout to all the Gilmore Girls fans) and his wife Kristen Bell. His guests are funny, and it’s interesting to learn about their backgrounds and what it took to get them to the well-known celebrities they are now. They’re much more candid with Dax then you typically see with staged press interviews. Dax’s commentary throughout is always witty, and it’s a great podcast if you’re in the mood to listen to something easy-going and light-hearted. Check out some other podcasts I enjoy here.
They may be little things, but those five things are certainly bringing me joy right now. No affiliate links, just my honest opinion 🙂 Let me know if you check any of them out; I’d love to hear what you think!
Sending love,
Morgan
