Happy December! This year has completely flown by. I can’t believe we’ve already been in Memphis for almost two months. It’s been about that long since I provided a life update so I thought I’d share what I’ve been up to.
We moved into our apartment
In mid-November, we moved out of our AirBnB and moved into our apartment! We are loving it so far. The location is great, it’s spacious and has an office area for me, which I love. We still have a lot to do until it’s finished (new tv, sofa, etc.) but we are unpacked and loving it.
Home for the holidays
After just one week in our apartment, it was already time to go back north! I went home early to celebrate my little brother’s 21st birthday in Philly, which was so much fun. Later in the week, I celebrated Thanksgiving with my family and got to see the best grandmom ever (Hi, Chicky!). At the end of the week, I met Tyler in Maryland where he spent the holiday with his family, and we drove back to Memphis.
It was a long drive (almost 14 hours) but it went by quickly, especially since Tyler is the best and drove the whole way. In my defense, it rained hard the entire time and my anxious self and driving in the rain don’t mix well. We were happy to be back in Memphis and back to a routine. We will already be back with our families in a few weeks for Christmas. I’m looking forward to seeing family and friends over my favorite holiday!
New workouts
Tyler and I joined the local rock climbing gym and are still loving it! It is so hard and I feel like I’m improving at a glacial pace haha but it’s something fun for us to do together. They also have a regular gym space so we can workout there as well.
I recently started a free-week trial for Obé Fitness and so far, it’s awesome! I didn’t know what to expect, but after seeing a few folks post about it on social media, I thought I’d give it a try since I enjoy online workout classes.
I enjoy mixing up my routine and following an instructor, but joining multiple gyms for different workouts just isn’t in the budget for me. Obé Fitness offers many workouts including yoga, kickboxing, pilates, strength, HIIT, dance cardio as more. At $27 per month, it’s extremely affordable to have access to so many classes. The trainers are all highly qualified, and I can say the same for the yoga teachers! And while I was nervous the yoga classes would be too “fitness” oriented, I’ve been very impressed with the classes I’ve taken so far.
On a final exciting note, I’m going to start teaching yoga again soon!! More on that to come 🙂
So that’s what I’ve been up to lately!
What’s new in your life?
Are you enjoying the holiday season?
