Happy Friday! This has been such a relaxing week for me. I spent this week with my mom at my family’s place in the northeast. My grandmom visited us one night and we had so much fun — seeing her makes my heart so happy.
It’s extremely quiet here during the week and I’ve felt such a sense of peace being here. I’m very grateful that I can work from anywhere with Wi-fi because after my move and lots happening, my time here this week has been extremely rejuvenating.
Workouts
Our place has very limited space and there are no yoga studios nearby so I’ve gotten pretty creative with my workouts this week! I brought one dumbbell, a resistance band and my yoga mat with me this week to use in my workouts. What I’ve done:
- This strong and slow power yoga flow on YouTube
- Biking the Chesapeake City Trail with my mom
- One dumbbell strength workout that I saved on my Instagram highlights
- Yoga flow and resistance band training
What I Ate
I won’t bore you with all of my meals but here’s a few standouts! As I work on intuitive eating and tuning out diet culture, it’s been surprisingly helpful for me to be away from a big kitchen with lots of options and grocery stores nearby. It helps me become a more flexible eater and not be so rigid in my diet. I plan to share more on this soon.
I got this amazing salad on Tuesday night with baby spinach, pecans, blue cheese, roasted beets, figs and a crab cake on top. I liked it so much (and so did my mom after she took a bite) that we went back for dinner on Wednesday and both got it again haha.
Chobani Greek yogurt with granola made of rolled oats and nuts has been my go-to snack. Protein + carbs + fat = super satisfying and delish! My mom found a locally-made coconut granola and I can’t stop eating it!
My 5-ingredient banana cookies. These were the first time I’ve made them for my mom and she was obsessed. I’ll share the recipe next week!
This is the first time I’ve tried the Humm mango passion fruit kombucha and oh my it will not be the last! Perfect for summer!
Intuitive eating is fun 🙂 This white pizza was ah-ma-zing — yes, those are dreamy dollops of ricotta. It’s been awhile since I had pizza and I was so satisfied.
We’ve also enjoyed lots of fresh fruit, cinnamon oat Kodiak cakes (this is going to be my new go-to flavor!) and some yummy rosé.
This weekend, I’m looking forward to Tyler and the rest of my family (minus my brother who is studying abroad in Austria!) join us. I hope to spend a lot of time outside on the jet ski and paddle board. It will be a fun weekend and I’m looking forward to celebrating my wonderful dad on Father’s Day!
How was your week?
