Yesterday my mood was pretty negative. I let work emails stress me out and I started worrying over things I had to do and deadlines. I felt cranky and was short with my parents when they called (sorry, mom and dad). Maybe it was the stir craziness from being trapped inside all day (spring, where are you?) but I let the frustration takeover. I knew that I needed to move my body because I sat in my bed all day, working on my laptop, aside from getting up to go to the fridge haha. I did a HIIT ... View the Post
Dear, Yoga: A Thank You Letter
Dear yoga, Thank you for teaching me how to breathe. It wasn’t until I was holding those long, difficult poses that I really learned the power of my breath. I had never thought of it before. I had heard the phrase, “take a deep breath” when I was stressed out, but I never truly understood it’s depth until I found you. You taught me to slow down my short, anxious breath, which in turn slowed down my anxious mind. Now, even when I’m off my mat and out in the real world, I know that peace is just ... View the Post
How Yoga Teaches Self Love

Laying on my yoga mat at the end of class in a blissful savasana, dimmed lights, completely surrendering into the moment with some Trevor Hall playing through the speakers... It is genuinely one of my favorite feelings in the world. I whole heartedly believe that music is therapeutic. It conveys feelings and emotions and times in our lives that we can't put into words. It makes us smile, makes us cry and makes us feel deep inside. Music can take us back to a moment stored away in our past in a ... View the Post
How Yoga Has Helped My Anxiety

You may know if you read this post about how I began my yoga journey, anxiety was stifling at one point in my life. I know what it feels like to be unable to shake anxiety and how frustrating it is when well-intentioned people tell you to "just relax" or "just breathe." I am grateful that I had the courage to share what I was going through with my parents and my doctor, and that I was ... View the Post
