Hello, friends! It’s been a few months since I’ve wrote a “Five Things I’m Loving Right Now” post, so I thought it was time for an update. You can read past posts here and here. This time, I’m specifically focusing on things that have helped my anxiety. I’d like to preface this by saying that by no means do these products take the place of medication/therapy/personal help when tackling anxiety. I fully support those as a means to treat anxiety and depression. The things I’m discussing today are just a few of the things that have helped me cope with anxiety. They’re not cures but I love using them as rituals to calm my mind and help me relax.
Meditation apps are really popular right now and for a great reason — they’re awesome! If you have an anxious mind and find silent meditation difficult, I recommend trying out Calm. The app shares a new 10-minute guided meditation every day. The narrator’s voice is very soothing and I really enjoy the nature sounds in the background. I also love that each meditation is themed and ends with a quote that you can reflect on.
I LOVE my new weighted blanket. I asked Santa for one for Christmas and he came through! Researchers recommend purchasing a blanket that is about 10% of your body weight for improved sleep quality. It’s extremely comforting and makes you feel like you’re being wrapped in a hug. It has helped me fall alseep so much faster!
This is a magnesium supplement, which is known to increase relaxation. Always consult with your doctor before taking a supplement, but I love taking this before bed. Magnesium calms nerves and relaxes muscles. I have been taking this at night for over one year and really enjoy it. I also like the taste which is a nice bonus!
I am one of those terrible people that sets 10 alarms for every morning because I’m really great at pressing the snooze button. This alarm clock is changing the game for me because it gradually wakes you up by filling your room with natural light. I also love it for the winter because you can turn the natural light on for some sunlight during these dark and cold months. This is really great for seasonal sadness.

I’ve shared in this post how much I love devotionals and how they positively impact the tone for my day. At the beginning of this year I started this new devotional and I already know it will be one that I turn to again and again. I love the short passages that are full of love, hope and the word of God. Each day offers me something that I need to hear and is a beautiful way to start or end your day.
Again, I know these products don’t cure anxiety or take the place of real treatment, but I hope that some of you find this helpful. I only write about these things because I really do enjoy them and believe that have positively impacted me and my anxiety. Above all, never be afraid to talk with someone you love or a therapist to get the support you need. You are never alone.
Sending love,
Morgan
