Happy September! It’s hard to believe it’s already time for fall. This year has simultaneously felt like the fastest and slowest year yet. There’s been so much change, uncertainty and sadness globally. I hope that whatever this year has brought you, you still know that you are loved and deserving of happiness, and trust that there are good things to come in the future.
Today I am sharing some things that are bringing me happiness. Enjoy!
1. Paleo Granola
I have made three batches of this granola and it has come out perfect each time! I have been trying to make more snacks like energy balls and granola for yogurt or smoothies so we eat less processed food. This granola will continue to be a staple — it’s so easy and delicious!
2. Weezie and Bebe Book Series
This book series by Mary Kay Andrews has been a great summer read. I love reading something light-hearted before bed, and this has been the perfect series. It’s easy to read and the characters are charming.
3. Pilates with Go Chlo
Chloe’s YouTube pilates classes have been a highlight of my at-home workouts. I haven’t gone back to any studios or gyms, so it’s been great to mix up my home workouts so I don’t get bored. Chloe’s classes are challenging, but fun and energizing. She has full length classes and shorter classes targeted to specific muscle groups like legs and core.
4. Takeya Water Bottle
I clumsily dropped my last water bottle and broke the cap, so I had to find a new one. I saw this Takeya water bottle in a store and loved the color and size. It keeps my water cold and is large enough that I don’t have to fill it frequently. It has a spout lid and a cap that you can hook onto a backpack. I think it will last a long time!
5. Natural Deodorant
I have tried many deodorants with clean ingredients but haven’t been very impressed. They either don’t work well or create build-up on the underarms of my t-shirts. I decided to try a natural deodorant I came across on Etsy that had good reviews. I ended up loving it! It’s made with ingredients like coconut oil, beeswax, baking soda and essential oils. It works great and smells lovely. Bonus, it’s made by a small business owned by a black female.
I will share one fun bonus with you. I am very late to the party, but Tyler and I just finished watching The Sopranos and it was amazing! It was a great show to binge during quarantine. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it, but the acting and plot was outstanding. That said, if you have any show recommendations, please share them with me!
Take care of yourself!
