Happy Friday! Many family and friends already know, but I thought I should provide a blog update — we’re moving to Memphis!
Tyler got a promotion at work that is sending us down south, and rather quickly. We move to Tennessee next week, which is pretty crazy. I’m extremely proud of Tyler and excited for him to take on this new role. We’ve known for the past few weeks that we would be moving somewhere, but we weren’t exactly sure which territory he would get transferred to. Thus lots of frantic Googling of cities/states we could possibly end up in ensued. It was a little nerve wrecking not knowing where we would end up (mostly for me, Tyler is way less Type A) but we we’re excited when we found out it was Memphis. It’s not somewhere we ever anticipated living, but that’s what adventure is about.
Did I mention neither of us have never been to Memphis? Haha. What did anyone do before the days of the internet? We did a lot of Googling and research on the best neighborhoods to live and we picked out an apartment based on online reviews. I’m such a planner that it’s odd for me to even think about moving somewhere I haven’t been yet, but I’m really excited for this adventure. Tyler and I have been dating for almost five years so I’m looking forward to taking this next step together as roomies 🙂
We both packed and loaded the moving pod this week and are all set to drive there next weekend. From my incessant internet and social media research, it looks like there’s a lot of fun things to do in Memphis! There’s a great music scene, good food and it’s close to a lot of other cities so we will get to plan some fun weekend road trips. Of course I looked into yoga studios and there’s lots of great options, so I hope to begin teaching soon!
I will certainly miss my east coast friends and family, but we will visit and hope they will too! Shout out to my parents for letting me crash with them the last few months as we figured out this moving situation 🙂 Blues and BBQ, here we come!
Have you ever been to Memphis?
What’s the biggest move you’ve ever made?
